XtremeData has developed an innovative, scalable and reconfigurable platform for high-performance computing. This platform includes FPGA-based In-Socket Accelerators and the infrastructure necessary in the software and firmware environment to enable acceleration.
XtremeData's In-Socket Accelerators are FPGA modules in a minimal footprint that is compatible with x86 CPUs from AMD (Opteron) and Intel (Xeon). The modules are electrically pin-compatible and occupy the same physical area designated for the CPU on the motherboard. A standard Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) x86 server can therefore easily be transformed into a high-performance platform by replacing one or more CPUs with XtremeData In-Socket Accelerators. Quad-socket and Octal-socket servers offer the flexibility of mixing and matching CPUs and In-Socket Accelerators.
At the system-level, scale-up is readily enabled by distributing CPUs and In-Socket Accelerators in rack-mount or blade servers, and implementing a high-bandwidth industry-standard interconnect network, such as 10GigEthernet or InfiniBand.
XDI’s hardware, firmware, and software infrastructure can be effectively leveraged to enable the rapid development of appliances or embedded sub-systems. Our platform offerings have dramatically shortened the Time-To-Market (TTM) for our customers.
